Let  us pray to the Holy Spirit for all communicators

  1. Lord, we contemplate your newborn Church, germinated in the silence and prayer of the Upper Room, where the Apostles, with Mary the Mother of Jesus, raised their voices in prayer to the Spirit.

  2. Beg him to descend on all Communicators, and as the days go by, grant that we too may grow in wisdom, spiritual maturity, prudence, sound judgement, virtue, grace,  and merit.

  3. Fill our hearts with love and apostolic zeal. The Spirit who presided over the Upper Room at the foundation of the church was also present during the birth and growth of our communities.

  4. Form our minds, inflame our hearts; help us understand and communicate  God’s saving Word and all the innovations that he alone is able to bring into being.

  5. Make us capable of fruitful vitality, of becoming a new creation: the communicators who write not on paper but on the hearts of people, dipping their pens into your spirit, so as to collaborate in renewing the world.

  6. O divine Spirit, gift us with unity, living faith, operate hope, boundless

  7. love and true holiness. Work your wonders once again in each one of

  8. us and in our communities, and in union with the Father, transform us

  9. into the image of his Son, Jesus Christ.

PAPAL RESIGNATION - The 1983 Code of Canon Law mentions

papal resignation in Canon 332, where it states:

If it happens that the Roman Pontiff resigns his office, it is required for validity that the resignation is made freely and properly manifested but not that it is accepted by
anyone. This corresponds to Canon 221 of the Canon Law of 1917,

If it happens that the Roman Pontiff resigns his office, it is not required for
validity that the resignation is accepted by the Cardinals or by anyone else.

The Canon law of 1917 and of 1983 make explicit that there is no particular
individual or body of people to whom the pope must manifest his resignation.

This addresses a concern raised in earlier centuries, specifically by 18th-century canonist Lucius Ferraris, who held that the College of Cardinals or at least its Dean
must be informed, since the cardinals must be absolutely certain that the Pope
has renounced the dignity before they can validly proceed to elect a successor.
